5 Halloween Treats that do the Trick
October 11, 2017Halloween will be here before we know it, which means Halloween parties will be here even sooner! Be the hostess with the mostess (or guest with the best) this year and whip up one of our favorite, spooky-good Halloween treats!
Rice Krispie Treat Pumpkins
Homemade Rice Krispie Treats are a crowd-pleaser at any party, but when they’re shaped like pumpkins? Forget about it. Find the recipe and directions here.
Tip: These don’t have to be pumpkin shaped! You can leave them white and make them into ghosts, dye them green and make them into heads of Frankenstein’s monster, or get as creative as you want with another ghoulish shape!
Spiderweb Nacho DIp
Treats don’t have to be sweet. Catch partygoers in your web with a dreadfully good dip. Start with a large, shallow bowl, baking sheet or serving platter. Spread guacamole along the bottom. Load up the edges with typical toppings – onion, black olive, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. – making sure it goes all the way around. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the toppings around. Use sour cream to create a spiderweb pattern in the center (they sell it in squeezable pouches). Add a few fake spiders, and you’ve got a masterpiece!
Tip: Use blue corn tortillas chips for a more festive dipping vehicle
Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups
Not every recipe requires a ton of work to be Pinterest-worthy. All you need for this one is pudding cups, pumpkin candies and crushed Oreos. Right before your party, open the pudding cups, sprinkle the tops with crushed cookies, and place a couple of the pumpkins on top.
Tip: Alternatively, you can use gummy worms instead of pumpkins, or make tombstones out of cookies.
