Weekend getaway destinations

Fire Island, New York

The Hamptons may reign supreme among weekend vacationers but Fire Island is coming for the crown. It has a more low key vibe than Hamptons meaning you don’t have to worry about running into your parents friends or anyone from the office. There are tons of great bars located on the beach plus there are no cars allowed on the island so you can easily make your way from the beach to the bar and back home.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

The Grand Strand is where it’s at in Myrtle Beach. Spend the day on the boardwalk, and at night enjoy Southern barbecue at Carolina Roadhouse, an energy-filled show at the Carolina Opry or dinner theater at Pirates Voyage.

Cape cod

While you may not be hobnobbing with the Kennedys, you’ll love the beauty of Cape Cod. From whale watching to celebrity spotting, Cape Cod is the place to be. And don’t forget to include a lobster dinner in your itinerary.

Hilton Head

If you’re a golfer, Hilton Head will suit you to a tee. Not into golf? There’s plenty to do, starting with brunch at Live Oak. You can work off your meal by exploring bike trails, going on a zip line or enjoying pretty much any water sport you can think of.

Newport, Rhode Island

Want to see how the other half (or 1 percent, that is) live? Visit Newport’s Cliff Walk and view the insane mansions that reside on the island. Otherwise enjoy the amazing beaches; lay out on the sand or take a boat and explore.
